AS 7517 Standard describes the requirements for assembly, maintenance, and interface of rolling stock wheelsets. The Standard covers the requirements for: – assembly, – geometric tolerances, – electrical resistance, – balancing, – identification and records, – actions following derailment. The standard does not cover: – Operation of rolling stock. – Rolling stock axles used on light rail, cane railway and monorail networks. – Wheelsets operating at speeds in excess of 200 km/hr.
