Emergency escape lighting and exit signs for buildings, Part 1: System design, installation and operation
Specifies the requirements for the design and installation of systems of emergency escape lighting and illuminated exit signage intended to illuminate upon failure of supply to the normal lighting. Includes requirements specific to central battery and single point/self contained arrangements. Does not include standby lighting or high risk task area lighting. Does not specify the types of buildings where these systems are required. Does not specify maintenance requirements (Refer to AS 2293.2). Does not detail constructional requirements for complying exit signs (Refer to AS 2293.3). Includes basic information to assist in correct choice and spacings of exit signs.
