This Standard applies to hammers. Tools covered by This Standard include but are not limited to percussion and rotary hammers. It will supersede AS/NZS 60745.2.6:2003, Hand-held motor-operated electric tools – Safety – Part 2.6: Particular requirements for hammers, two years from publication. During this period it is anticipated that regulatory authorities will approve hammers to either standard.
