AS/NZS 60335.2.2:2020 deals with the safety of electric vacuum cleaners and water-suction cleaning appliances for household and similar purposes, including vacuum cleaners for animal grooming, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. It also applies to centrally-sited vacuum cleaners and automatic battery-operated cleaners. This Standard will supersede AS/NZS 60335.2.2:2018 three years from the date of publication (i.e. on 26 June 2020). During this period AS/NZS 60335.2.2:2018 will also remain current. Regulatory authorities that reference this Standard in regulation may apply these requirements at a different time. Users of this Standard should consult with these authorities to confirm their requirements.
