Establishes general principles for document filming on 16 mm and 35 mm silver-gelatin type microfilm, including orientation of images on film, and the area for codes. It includes the information required to facilitate identification, classification, testing and subsequent use of the microfilm. It applies to rotary and planetary microfilming. It is based on, but not equivalent to, and has been reproduced from ISO 6199:1991.
