Specifies essential safety requirements for high frequency surgical equipment (other than medical diathermy equipment) which is required to have patient-circuits isolated from earth (at d.c. and mains supply frequencies) and either isolated at operating frequencies or fitted with devices to monitor the integrity of the dispersive electrode connection. Requirements for separate supply isolation transformers and power reduction ratios are deleted from this edition.
