Guide to sports lighting, Part 1: General principles

Sets out general principles and recommendations for lighting, both indoors and outdoors, where sport is played. Takes account of the visual requirements of both players (including officials and/or umpires) and spectators, but does not cover requirements for television broadcasting. Sections deal with definitions; general recommendations; lighting equipment; and assessment and measurement of sports lighting installations. Appendices cover classification of floodlights; maintenance of outdoor lighting equipment; recommended method of measuring average illuminance and uniformity; and estimation of the relative costs of installations.
