Part 1 describes general laboratory procedures for cleaning and sterilizing laboratory equipment and gives detailed description of general microbiological techniques, viz. pour plate method; surface-viable methods; membrane filtration method; MPN method. Preparation of media, reagents required, and sterility testing are dealt with in appendices. McCrady’s tables for MPN calculations are also appended.
